In no way am I so disilliusional to think I could sustain that rate over time. But I figure it's worth a run for 30 days. Doesn't hurt that someone else is "sponsoring' me in the thing. I'd never trade a regular account with a contest type strategy.
jr97>Thats a good idea there. Way too many people there have lost substantial stakes by trading 2K+ accounts and trying to get first placed through high leverage. Nice that someone else is sponsoring you. Way to play a win win situation . Nice setup.
FXCM has a monthly mini trading contest, but after some of the things I've read about them I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. http://www.fxcm.com/trading-contest.jsp I found that the mini cooper contest was run by forex.com and ended in June. http://www.forex.com/contest_winners.html
Well the September contest is over. I did better than 86% of the poll respondents here thought I would do. Competition always seems to bring out the best in my trading. The results are still preliminary, as no winners have been announced yet but so far it looks good for me. I didn't sign up for the October contest so good luck to all those who are competing this month! http://www.interbankfx.com/september.htm
You might have a better chance by never trading: you can let the competititors bleed each other to death and blown up; end up as the only one with the same money you started with and win.
Thanks, But even more impressive from the manual trader category is pipstar's up 472.24 % performance. Also of note is that after NFP (day 2) globvest in the expert advisor category was up 475.77 %. He could have quit at that point and been way ahead!
