What algorithmic trading firms use Scala?

  1. No surprise there....the banksters have the big bucks to experiment with new platforms and waste tons of money on development.
    I wonder what the going rate is for a Scala developer ?
    It's gotta be a lot, right ?

    No more than say a really good Java developer. You seem to think Scala is something particularly special. If you ask pure functional programming guys, they will say Scala is not at the level of Haskell or Lisp.

    Personally I would rather go with the most popular language like Java since there is more demand.

    I would have never expected to see Scala discussed here.
    Yes guys, if you can stand the complexity and don't have problems with the small market go for Scala.
