1. Huge resources and a small population is a great combo. Canada's cold climate is beneficial. It actually keeps the dregs out. The state of California was once like this, now its just a broke ponzai scheme.

By no means do i think that conservatives are innocent, all politicans are useless jackasses who overspend, regardless of which side they are on.

However Republicans are indeed currently trying to cut spending in the U.S. and conservatives in Canada are also trying to cut spending.

And on both fronts the spending cuts are being fought tooth and nail by braindead liberals like Bigdavediode, who try to convince themselves they are "fiscal conservatives."

  3. I have yet to hear the GOP say they will try to cut SS and the military by half. Until that happens, they aren't doing anything about spending, they're just playing politics and appeasing their base with meaningless soundbites.

Same goes for the other side, too, of course, in the opposite direction.

In the meantime, both sides are busy ramping up deficits and blowing up the debt level.

The Ryan plan(which republicans supported) would have cut about 600 billion dollars a year off the deficit, but the democrats voted against it and promptly used it for political points, by running disgusting attack ads of paul ryan throwing an old lady off a cliff, so his plan is essentially dead in the water.

Republicans also tried to cut 100 billion per year off the deficit earlier this year, and Obama and the democrats argued them down to 30 billion in cuts, which isnt even enough to pay the added interest from the 1.5 trillion dollar deficit we are running this year.

Obama only wanted 6 billion in cuts.

  6. Too bad the GOP-controlled House won't pass it.

Which exactly why he proposed it.

    Politics as usual.

  8. Yes.

    GOP will never pass it.

And if they can't pass that, they won't even think about SS.

Along with the Dems, they continue to be all hat, no cattle, on fiscal responsibility.

Whoops......... Ryans plan already passed in the house....MORE THAN A MONTH AGO, so much for your theory.

It is no wonder you hold your belief that neither party is trying to cut the deficit. It apppears that you dont even pay attention to the basic daily news.

  10. Just an FYI, sock-puppet poster registered yesterday with only one post -- Canadians and British spell "neighbors" "neighbours." In fact, Americans are the only ones who spell it "neighbors." It's one of many ways to tell if someone is actually Canadian, and you're not.

Max, when you wish to engage without changing the topic or bringing suck-puppet posters to the table along with citations and facts I will be happy to reengage you on this topic. In the mean time I recommend reviewing the "picture" I posted detailing rules for intelligent discussion.
