You don't have a clue. Honestly, this is a good example of how poorly run some government agencies are, that they would place someone with your attitude in that role.

What Hansel H. was saying about people self segregating is basically true. you can go into areas of Toronto or Vancouver, where you can go through entire street blocks that are 80-90% one race/culture. In Toronto, there are areas that you could get by without even speaking english. I havent spent enough time in Vancouver to know if its the exact same out there, but i still know that there are areas that are predominantly asian, areas that are predomintalty middle eastern, predominantly russian, etc...

Canada is obviously ALOT more integrated then the U.S. is but there is still large areas, particularly in vancouver and Toronto, where entire city blocks are mostly comprised of one race/culture, or another.

Here is what he said :

Compared to 99.9% of the world, we are as harmonious along ethnic lines as you will find anywhere. In fact, what conflict that does exist, is RARELY ethnic based. Its economic based, where essentially poor people resort to crime as a result of their economic plight, not their ethnic heritage at all.

The workplaces we attend, the sports clubs we join, the shopping malls and restaraunts are a mosaic of many different cultures. Very much different from some parts of the US I've visited.

Hey, maybe Hansel lives in a gated community, sends his kids to private schools, chooses his place of residence very carefully. That's just not the life I live and see myself. You might be able to create such a like for yourself, but it takes some effort.

Ironic though that Hansel would supervise housing projects. I've read a lot of bad press on local government in this role, so in a sad way this all makes sense. Wrong person in the role in my opinion, he sees race and ethnic divide where I just see people.

Canadian women can be a big part of what's right with Canada!

I've been very close to an old school French Canadian woman in recent months.... all I can say is, wow! A woman that is raised to be a woman and support a man in all that he does is a tremendous asset... everything in my life has gone to the next level up, virtually everything.. and she is welcome to a share of everything I have...

I'm exposed to a lot of AmeriBitches on a daily basis and it's becoming very clear to me that they are truly useless to me and not something that I will ever want to do anything with... I won't date them, I won't argue with them, I won't take shit from them, I won't help them if they are starving, I won't piss on them if they are on fire... I'll give them the minimum respect that they are due and that is it... if somebody finally starts putting bounties on them I might get into that business as an exciting and rewarding sideline but until that day I'll have no relationship with them at all...

  5. quite a few doubters in the poll. while many of them are likely the envious Americans, some must be the Canadians judging by their posts.

I agree 100% with what you are saying, and i Agree Canada is among the best in the world, in terms of race relations. I was just saying that what Hansel said about large areas of these cities in Canada being somewhat segregated is basically true.

All im saying is that Canada isnt some wonderland, where skin colour/culture is irrelevant, many people still move to areas where they will be surrounded by people of their own nationality, Canada may be better than most places but Canada still isnt perfect.

The main advantages to living in the US versus Canada ( for decades ) have always been financially oriented, specifically we were taxed to death for decades. And it does appear that finding really nicely paid jobs was 500% easier in the US for many years.
The trade off was we always had it better in most other factors.

But it does appear that since the US financial meltdown, the financials have reversed in Canada's favour now. The US is looking after its rich at the expense of the shrinking middle class. In Canada, we have the same problem, but to a much small extent. I fully expect the US will have much higher taxes in the near future, possibly far higher then most Americans have ever seen. It should be interesting to see how that all plays out.

Eight, if you are Canadian then I will have to revise my otherwise very positive view of Canada and Canadians. I suspect however that you are not Canadian but a transplant.
