And that is where we disagree. Because we then allow ourselves to be led by the nose by scum. I have a little more trust in properly elected legislators than I do in the basest elements to determine the world we must live in. You see, I believe in democracy, and the electoral process when properly conducted.
And yet there could be a grey area in the interpretation of certain, say carefully crafted, threatening language.
It is unlikely that a group of folks riding around in trucks are going to carefully craft anything of the sort.
It's quite remarkable. What would be even more so is if I went to a Canadian politics board (do they exist??) to argue how you guys need to be more free in the speech you allow. But why would I do that? What happens in Canada is Canadian business.
So you need to tell Max E. Pad and achilles28 to stop polluting your American P&R forum. Perhaps there are others...
Wait, what? You mean you don't believe in democracy and the electoral process when properly conducted? You believe vastly differently?
And your default assumption is that it is reasonable to believe that a group of guys somehow knew where there was a black child's birthday party and decided to invade it for no reason and make death threats? The article was so poorly written it was impossible to know what happened. Possibly it was from incompetence, or possibly the writer was trying to string together a series of hot button references to suggest something happened which didn't. It certainly would not be unusual for an article claiming racist behavior to be found unsupported once all the facts are known.
Not vastly. I believe in Democracy, of course, but I believe in the Republic first and foremost. The United States has a system of laws that were founded under a republic. There is a constitutional process to get rid of Free Speech (or to turn it into whatever you think it should be). All we have to do is act upon that. Best of luck on that campaign
