Correction of your correction should read: "Who really won in the wars of terror" Way more innocent civilians killed by US 'collateral damage' than killed on 9/11.
by possibly a factor of 1000. and many of the relatives of those killed will harbor ill will towards America making them ripe for recruitment. the islamophobia the war on terror has fostered has pushed many Muslims residing in western countries who would otherwise be productive members to the fringe where they are ripe for recruitment as well.
Islamophobia, while natural to the small number of Christian fascists, has been deliberately inflated across the general population. Among so many other culture "war" divisions, it softens (or at least distracts) resistance to military involvement abroad, involvement intended to secure for Capitalism the free flow of resources and continuation of profit to shareholders, aka the 1%.
I am not a fan of the argument that we can never kill terrorists because their families will get pissed and become terrorists too...
