>>Are these people traditional democrats who care about the working and tax payer class or are they just spokespeople and puppets for the cronies.<< Are you serious? The democrats wrote off the working and taxpayer class years ago. They see us as the enemy. The only working people they care about are government workers. The only taxpayers they care about are hedge fund managers, liberal CEO's and Hollywood royalty. They haven't carried a majority of white votes in a presidential election in decades. Nor are they likely to any time soon.
It's unfortunate that you didn't watch, jem. I think you would have found several things to like about some of the candidates. Though no candidate mentioned single payer (unless I missed it) I'm guessing that Sanders, at least, would be a strong advocate for single payer. I'm sure you can still listen to it on the internet. All candidates in both parties are, of course, in favor of halting illegal immigration, but their stances on legal immigration vary widely. You wouldn't like Sanders or Hillary's position on climate change.
I would have watched in the past. But, I spent 10 to 15 years wanting lower taxes and less govt. I realized the Republicans were more like George Bush Senior... and less like Reagan... so then even though I did not vote him, I had hoped Obama would do things the left might do that they might think were good for country. like single payer. But, when I saw the insurance company get insurance company care instead of single payer out of a democrat controlled congress... I realized there is no hope for a good left or a good right out of the establishment. Its pretty easy... if you are on the left and don't promote single payer... you are a liar owned by the cronies. If you are on the right and don't repeal Obamacare and the IRS... you are a liar owned by the cronies. No need to watch. We know the results we have seen them for close to 28 years...(with a few exceptions under Gingrich and Clinton).
I've never understood this blind allegiance to a particular political party...All of these rationalizations to keep supporting them are ridiculous...Most of the time I find that it's not tacit support for one party that motivates this allegiance, but complete contempt towards the "other party"...
amen... glad its cracking. Thats the people saying no to the establishment no more posing as conservatives and voting with democrats. The donkey is not enjoying the show... in facts its a horror show for the cronies who run things which is why the chamber says it will spend 100 million against the base.
I am still reacting to that as I type... its is so sick and wrong in so many ways.... but sadly true.
