Sure you can. Some symbols have acquired meanings that override all others that preceded them. Burning crosses, say. Men wearing white hoods and sheets. They may have meant different things to different people in different times. But there is an overriding meaning attached to them that dwarfs and supersedes all others. Same with the swastika. It became a thing of infamy in Germany (and everywhere else). Anyone claiming it means something else to them is being obtuse and should go live in a cave.
Pure ignorance. You haven't been around the world much, have you? The history of the world does not start nor end with America. It's just one country/culture among many. There's literally an article on this: https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20170413-this-white-hood-carries-many-meanings As stated, swastika means many things in different cultures. You should really go and campaign in India and tell them "you don't know what this symbolizes". And as I said, many places in Europe don't have any negative connotations toward the swastika as German occupation was far better than the Soviet rape and pillage. But your knowledge is based on Nat Geo "documentaries" and Hollywood, so your ignorance is excused. I'm starting to see how the American left is insane. "If you disagree with me, go live in a cave". You're no different than people in a cult. There's no point having a discussion with a fanatical believer like yourself.
Welcome to our hell. They don't want to talk or discuss. They just shriek at us that we are wrong and we must repent.
Alright, I will grant you that I overstated. So let's go for context, shall we? Because we can always assign a single definition to symbolism in context. I am vaguely familiar with the swastika in India. But please show me where it is glorified in Europe. And do you think that the white supremacists who sport the symbol do so in honor of Indian culture? And the sheets and hoods they wear at their parades, a symbol of Spanish Easter or whatever? So when the same white supremacists and their useful idiots wave the Confederate flag, what do YOU think it means, wink-wink aside?
Those who glorify it are mislead at best. I don't celebrate the Nazis or want them to return either. That said, you have protesters marching on US streets waving red flags with a hammer and sickle - a far more unmistakable symbol of the Soviet Union (quite literally, the flag). Soviet Union leaders deliberately killed millions, some tortured, some starved to death, some executed - many more than the nazis. How do you think people in Eastern Europe feel about that message of "let's bring back the system that murdered your grandparents for no real reason"? But from your completely subjective cultural aspect Nazis were worse than the Soviets I assume? Personally I support all peaceful protests and whatever flag you might want to carry. I don't necessary like some of it but I'm an adult and can focus elsewhere. Same goes for statues. Perhaps I would support relocating the statues to military cemeteries or other areas but not destroying them like rabid apes. TLDR: your feelings don't trump others' rights.
All Military statues should stay and there should be stiff sentences for those that destroy them. If it wasnt for our brave military defending our great constitution, there wouldnt be a first amendmant right to peacefully protest. Unfortunately the Left( NFL players) have desecrated our first amendmant by kneeling to the very flag that represents everything our brave military valiantly defended including the first amendmant. ironically, the left would all be shot on the spot with their protesting if it wasnt for what our great flag represents. They are such cowards. The Left continues to use blacks as puppets by reinforcing dependency behavior and conding their violence. Don Lemon is a low life piece of garbage with no talent. Thats why he is with cnn and he only has the job due to affirmative action not merit. Then again a lot of white people on cnn have no talent and work there.
