Russia has massed only around 100k troop near the border, where Ukraine has 250k military. Too small a force for an invasion.

Maybe you should consider that Putin may be wrong? That maybe Putin is the one "weakening" Russia.

  3. It appears, as of this morning, that Germany has indeed assured Russia that Ukraine will never be invited into either EU or NATO (I assume also means Georgia and Moldova).

Of course, this part of the agreement will never be allowed to surface to mainstream news (they probably will simply drag and drag the possible acceptance as they have with Turkey...for 20 yrs between each acceptance meeting and then need more "review" time)). But it does appear to have happened in agreements last night.

btw...Turkey had said last week that if Ukraine was rushed into EU, Turkey would leave NATO immediately.

  5. Turkey had been trying to gain entry into EU since 1995 (they had been trying for European Economic Community since 1987)...it has finally become clear they will never be accepted after long long review periods
