YM Traders

  1. The one problem with simulators is
    you don't feel the loss.

When I Was trading real money every single day, I felt the lost, I made sure the lost was not repeated. The bigger lost it was, the more motivation I had to fix it.

Every lost motivated me to figure out exactly what caused the lost, why, who , when where.

One needs to completely understand every single mistake made in trading every single day to advance to the next level.

This may or may not happen with every person simulating, but it should be stressed that it needs to happen to take things to the next level.

I did, work out much better in real trading than in paper with NJ (live data feed), due to their last in queue algorithm, try and make some paper money with NJ, now that was harsh.

  3. Few people really understand this point but:

There are no randomness in YM ,

    Chop is not random.

Every single bad trade you take can be explained and fixed.
    Or avoided.

When people drop that stupid Mark douglas book (Which I thought was good when I started) and understand this point, you will progress very quickly in the art of trading.

  4. I was worried opening a journal would put too much stress on me to perform, but... since I am determined to just execute, maybe a journal could help.

I'm going to start this journal next week unless I see reason to do it immediately.

Maybe writing to myself to just play the game, don't worry, and all my testing and discipline and patience will pay off.

Gotta keep trying things to get myself mentally in the game and then everything will take off. It's nothing but the mental game I have left to work on.

But, lucky for me I love to learn and money has no meaning from trading as of yet, only survival.

So I will see what will happen tomorrow.

    I'm no groupie you fruitcake.

Here's my take on you: You may have a system but you're so damaged from your past blow-ups that you can't trade it so your brother in-law has to pull the trigger.

Which book are you talking about ?

Trading in the zone bored me, but

The Disciplined Trader is one of the best books I have ever read.

And I am not the only one who thinks this.

The only contest you need to win in is the one against your mind. All of the rest are of no benefit.
