  2. hey man, I raised three kids with no TV. They got so bored they did homework. And for fun they read books. When anybody asked them if they liked school they always said, "No, it's stupid."

The first thing they did when they left home was buy a TV.

Now they have kids and no TV.

  3. CNN, the Bubbas station of choice. Why did they waste time putting it online? Most CNN watchers aren't smart enough to turn on a computer.

  5. No, I said what I meant. TV is the domain of the mindless lazy masses, too stupid to look for something more intelligent to do with their life.

In the meantime, here I am stuck on ET. Ohhhh, the irony!! What was that old sitcom, "Three's company"? The blind leading the stupid!

  6. it's great now, when the grandkids stop by I plop them in my chair and turn on the Disney Channel and hand them a bag of Pepperidge Farm Cookies, and they sit there mesmerized. When the parents find out they are pissed. Partly because they think it is bad for the kids, but mostly because I never let them do that.

  7. no kidding man, I like movies when really rich and powerful spies or businessmen need to find a payphone. (And they still treat you really well at an airport.)

Once they invented the computer, movies got pretty boring. It's not very entertaining to watch somebody typing.

But no matter how sophisticated the technology gets, it usually comes down to a knife fight.

    Even Gekko slugged Charlie Sheen.

  8. Once in a while is ok. But 2.7 hours a day is addiction. imho.

"--Watching TV was the leisure activity that occupied the most time
(2.7 hours per day), accounting for about half of leisure time, on
average, for those age 15 and over."

  10. well, you don't have to worry about that, because now your kids are "working" on the computer.

We use to sneak out and smoke.

Now they just email friends and talk about how to hack around parental controls.

You might need a facebook account just so your kid will know who you are. And it may come in handy if there is ever a lawsuit.

Judge: I checked out your facebook page and you seem like a decent parent
