Lying Ted... Simple, but rolls off the tongue nicely. I'll admit to thoroughly enjoying Trump mopping the floor with the other Republicans, & the RNC freaking out was a nice touch. Joke's on me now I guess.
LOL, i remember thinking he was a joke too, i remember wanting Chris Cristie, cause i saw all the videos of him destroying teachers unions, i thought christie would hit back, but no one did against Trump, he just basically became the "Bully" and beat the shit out of everyone, i was also thinking hillary was a lock cause the media had told us that...... I dont think in history you will ever see anything crazier and more unexpected than that. Hillary's loss is the modern version of Dewey vs Truman, thats why she keeps claiming she aint making excuses while she makes one excuse after another after another. It must be incredibly sad to be that power hungry and that confident it was your turn only to become the biggest heel in decades.
I remember Christie commending Obama for hurricane Sandy's quick response and shitting on the party's fallout for doing so. I though "shit, a politician extending an olive branch, who's not going back on his word, is this guy an independent?". I had deep respect for that incident and thought the guy was president material. Seems like he had to fall in line with the party's message to get any support..... Much good that did him. Oh, and the whole corruption and bridge thing. I thought Jeb was not all that bad albeit soft (plus yet another Bush), and Kasich came across simple yet honest. Neither struck me as assholes who'd pick on groups of people for politics....(read immigrants). I think the time for a kind Republican ended with W, even if he ended killing more people than the previous 3 adminstrations combined
No one saw it coming. I was like "no fuking way" after Florida and knew it was over around that time one of the key states had turned (can't remember which, Pennsylvania maybe) I still believe it was a hail Mary win fueled mostly by voter apathy and low turnout from the left. Trump will at least teach people a lesson to not take democracy for granted and to do their civic duty. It also makes me wonder if one of the Republican strategies was to feed that apathy somehow. They play dirty but get the job done (planting the idea of a communist dictatorship if the left wins for instance to get their base out). I wholeheartedly believe voter ID is just another ploy to fix the game and are just prepping for 2020 even if the measure makes sense at face value. Democrats have to push for electoral college reform, roll back citizens United, dismiss Gerrymandering and find a way to deal with this ID stuff (using federal funds to get people said ID for instance), or amending some gun registration thing to expose the hypocrisy. They also have to up their psychology game like the right does, exploit the mob mentality for all its worth. Republicans can steal the Hispanic vote if they do a 180 on immigration, but there's money tied up in the private prison system so who knows. I'd rather see compromise and civility but those days are gone until the money's pulled out of politics.
Ya know, you guys may think I'm crazy... but I play by intuition... and there's more here than meets the eyes. Trump could have come up with about a dozen different nicknames for this fat fuck. Calling him "Rocketman" is in some round-about way.... nice. Respectful. Almost a "loving"(?) acknowledgement of a worthy adversary as only someone like Trump can give. To break the ice maybe? Its hard for me to put it into words.... but there's something there. I feel it. And to be real... its the only way. Say what you want.... but Trump is no dummy. For a rich boy, he really does have street smarts.
That's rich coming from the side that has demonized every Republican candidate in the modern era and then is shocked that someone like Trump won. But, yeah, go with voter apathy. You're starting to sound like a Hillary Clinton book on what happened.
